3. SWOSSAA PLAY-OFFS

a) All play-offs are sudden-death.
b) If only two member associations have representatives, then they will play one game for the SWOSSAA championship.
c) If at the AA, AAA or AAAA level, all three member associations have representatives then the KCSSAA representative will play the LSSAA representative in the semi-final. The home team will alternate yearly. The winner of the semi-final game will play the WECSSAA representative in the final. In odd-numbered years, the Senior final will be hosted by the semi-final winner and the Junior final will be hosted by WECSSAA. In even-numbered years, the Senior final will be hosted by WECSSAA and the Junior final will be hosted by the semi final winner.
d) If all three member associations have representatives at the A level, then there shall a four team tournament. There will be one team for LSSAA, one team for WECSSAA and two teams for KCSSAA. In even numbered years, the semi-finals will be KCSSAA 1 vs. WECSSAA and KCSSAA 2 vs. LSSAA. In odd numbered years, the semi-finals will be KCSSAA 1 vs. LSSAA and KCSSAA 2 vs. WECSSAA. The school form the host member association will play in the second semi-final and be designated home team for that game. If the tournament is hosted by KCSSAA, KCSSAA 1 will play in the second game. The home team for the first game will be determined by coin flip. The winner of the second semi-final will be designated home team for the final. The final will be played the day after the semi-finals.

4. PLAYING RULES

a) The official high school basketball rules as adopted by the National Federation of State High School Athletic Associations shall be the governing regulations for the current year except as noted herein.
b) In all girls games, two O.A.B.O. officials form the area of the convenor in which the play-off occurs will be used.
c) In all junior. boys games, two O.A.B.O. officials from the area of the convenor in which the play-off occurs will be used.
d) In all senior boys’ games, three O.A.B.O. officials will be used. At the AA, AAA, and AAAA level. Two of the officials will be from the area of the convenor in which the play-off occurs and the area of the visiting team will be invited to send the third official. If the officials association declines, then all three officials will come from the area of the convenor in which the play-off occurs. The Board of Directors will set a travel rate for the visiting official. The game rate for the visiting official will be the same as that for the local officials. The above also applies if the senior A championship is played as a single game. If the tournament format is used for the A championship, then all three officials will be from the area of the host school.
e) The home team will wear a uniform that is light in colour.
f) In senior play, a team is allowed to enter a maximum of fifteen players in the official scorebook. In junior play, there is no limit to the number of players that may be entered in the scorebook.
g) Teams form outside the host member association shall have the option of supplying one of the minor officials (scorer or timer) provided the convenor is notified twenty-four hours in advance. Both minor officials shall preferably be staff members. The convenor or his/her representative shall be present at the scorer's table.
